Editing Tools

Several editing tools have been prepared for users of this Toolkit to assist in preparation of FAO project documents. These include a Toolkit Glossary and list of Abbreviations and Acronyms commonly used in many of the example project documents found in the Kit.

FAO house-style guides, recommended spelling and multi-lingual terminology databases are also provided below as support to FAO document preparation.

The below links are not exclusive however, as new editing tools are continually evolving in-house. Users should therefore refer regularly to the web sites of specific technical disciplines for specialized editing and reference guidelines pertaining to the subject matters of interest (i.e. several specific glossaries and terminology handbooks have been published in print and on-line by individual Technical Divisions). Numerous FAO databases and information systems also contain references to technical definitions and authoritative sources of technical expertise and data.
